William Anthony Shopoff (also known as Bill Shopoff) of Irvine, California, a stockbroker currently registered with Shopoff Securities, is referenced in a customer initiated investment related civil action brought in the District Court of the State of Nevada in which the customer requested $50,000.00 in damages supported by allegations including omissions and misstatements relating to a real estate security transaction during the time that Shopoff was employed by Shopoff Securities. Civil Action No. CV21-02164 (Dec. 21, 2021). The civil action alleges that the customer experienced damages on 1031 exchanges.

FINRA Public Disclosure shows that Shopoff has been identified in three more customer initiated investment related disputes regarding accusations of his activities while employed by Shopoff Securities. On May 24, 2019, a customer initiated investment related civil action regarding Shopoff’s conduct was settled for $4,750,000.00 in damages based upon allegations of breach of contract, breach of guaranty, and fraud when Shopoff was registered with Shopoff Securities. Another customer initiated investment related civil action involving Shopoff’s activities was resolved for $6,500,000.00 in damages founded on accusations of a breach of a written guaranty while Shopoff was associated with Shopoff Securities. Civil Action No. 30-2019-01065076-CU-BC-CXC. The lawsuit also alleges breach of contract and violation of Voidable Transactions Act.

Shopoff is also the subject of a customer initiated investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim which was settled for $28,750,000.00 in damages supported by allegations of Shopoff breaching written guaranty agreements made between 2014 and 2015 and Shopoff engaging in other transfers resulting in damages to the investors.
