Shawn Elizabeth Parker of Schaumburg Illinois a stockbroker formerly registered with Ameriprise Financial Services is the subject of a customer initiated investment related written complaint on February 12, 2021 where the customer requested $254,336.56 in damages founded on accusations of Parker misrepresenting benefits and features on a living benefit rider on their RiverSource RAVA 5 Advantage variable annuity.
Parker has been identified in seven more customer initiated investment related disputes concerning allegations of her improper actions while she was employed by Ameriprise Financial. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Public Disclosure shows that Parker has been referenced in a customer initiated investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim which was resolved for $25,000.00 in damages based on accusations including breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty relating to stock trades made in the customer’s Ameriprise Financial Services account. The claim also alleges that omissions and fraudulent misrepresentations were made to them. According to the claim, Ameriprise failed to supervise Parker resulting in unsuitable transactions.
A different customer filed an investment related complaint concerning Parker’s conduct in which the customer sought $12,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that Parker effected an unsuitable Inland American REIT transaction when she was registered with Ameriprise. On May 3, 2016, a customer filed an investment related complaint involving Parker’s activities where the customer requested $7,197.14 in damages founded on accusations of misrepresentation relating to their variable annuity purchase through Parker at Ameriprise Financial.
Parker is also the subject of a customer initiated investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim in which the customer sought $77,000.00 in damages supported by allegations that Parker provided defective investment advice to them as it pertained to a business development company and real estate investment trust. FINRA Arbitration No. 20-02980 (Sept. 8, 2020).
On December 10, 2020, another customer filed an investment related complaint regarding Parker’s conduct where the customer requested compensatory damages founded on accusations of a BDC and two REITs being misrepresented by Parker at Ameriprise. The complaint alleges that the customer’s signature had been forged on their investment application.
Parker’s registration with Ameriprise Financial was terminated on June 8, 2020 after she had allegedly been disciplined for violating the securities broker dealer’s policy.
