Sherwin Edison Sargeant, also known as Sherwin Sargeant, a former stockbroker with Planmember Securities Corporation in Orlando, Florida, has been barred by Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), effective November 5, 2024.  Letter of Acceptance, Waiver, and Consent (AWC) No. 2023079285701.

FINRA launched an investigation into Sargeant regarding undisclosed outside business activities, including potential involvement with crypto assets. On September 25, 2024, FINRA requested Sargeant’s on-the-record testimony scheduled for October 17, 2024. Sargeant received the request but refused to appear. FINRA found that he violated Rules 8210 and 2010. Without admitting or denying the findings, Sargeant consented to the sanctions through a Letter of Acceptance, Waiver, and Consent (AWC), leading to a permanent bar from associating with any FINRA member firm in all capacities.

Sargeant voluntarily resigned from Planmember Securities Corporation on June 15, 2023. His resignation followed the securities broker dealer’s discovery of references to an undisclosed business activity during an email review. A subsequent background check revealed additional undisclosed outside business activities. While Sargeant initially cooperated with the securities broker dealer’s internal review, he reportedly resigned before providing all requested information.

Sargeant was registered with Planmember Securities Corporation from December 18, 2019, until July 14, 2023, in Orlando, Florida.
