Shane Alexander Appelbaum, of Boca Raton, Florida, a stockbroker registered with Herbert J. Sims Co. Inc., is the subject of a customer initiated investment related Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) securities arbitration claim in which the customer requested $3,000,000.00 resulting from the sale of private placements during the time that Appelbaum was associated with Herbert J. Sims Co. Inc. FINRA Arbitration No. 24-01117 (May 28, 2024).  According to Mr. Appelbaum, “the focus of this client’s claim appears to be related to losses on investments purchased by the client and his father with his previous broker between 2010 and 2020, who has since retired.”

FINRA Public Disclosure shows that Appelbaum is also referenced in a customer initiated investment related complaint filed on February 20, 2020, in which the customer requested $86,864.90 in damages based upon the alleged unsuitable recommendation of Certificates of Deposit or CDs during the period that Appelbaum was associated with HJ Sims Inc. The complaint was closed with no further action taken by the customer.

Appelbaum has been associated with Herbert J. Sims Co. Inc. in Boca Raton, Florida, since March 23, 2004, as a stockbroker, and Herbert J. Sims Capital Management Inc. in Fairfield, Connecticut, since March 8, 2017, as an investment advisor representative.
