Doan Cong Nguyen of Vancouver, British Columbia, a stockbroker formerly registered with Raymond James (USA) Ltd., has been barred from associating with any Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) member in any capacity supported by findings that he did not comply with FINRA while under investigation for an undisclosed outside business activity while registered with Raymond James. Letter of Acceptance, Waiver, and Consent No. 2021071260701 (April 21, 2022).
According to the AWC, FINRA received word from Raymond James on April 30, 2021, that it terminated Nguyen as a stockbroker based upon allegations of him engaging in an outside business activity without Raymond James’ knowledge or approval.
The AWC states that on January 31, 2022, Nguyen was asked by FINRA to provide information and documents relating to the alleged outside business activity. The regulator received an email from Nguyen on February 23, 2022, confirming that Nguyen received its request and that he would not comply with the investigation at any time. Nguyen’s refusal to provide documents and information to FINRA showed that he violated FINRA Rules 2010 and 8210.
Nguyen was registered with Raymond James between October 5, 2015, and April 30, 2021.
