Adam Jesse Gurien of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, a stockbroker registered with Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner Smith Incorporated, was the subject of a customer initiated investment related Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) securities arbitration claim that was settled for $120,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that Gurien made misrepresentations and the unsuitable investment recommendation of alternative investments during the time that Gurien was associated with Merrill Lynch. FINRA Arbitration No. 22-02215 (November 9, 2023).
Gurien is referenced in four other customer initiated investment related disputes concerning Gurien’s conduct while associated with securities broker dealers. FINRA Public Disclosure shows that Gurien was referenced in a customer initiated investment related complaint filed on August 14, 2000, in which the customer requested $14,350.00 in damages based upon allegations that Gurien made misrepresentations of material fact in connection with the sale of mutual funds during the time that Gurien was associated with Merrill Lynch. The securities broker dealer denied this complaint.
On January 29, 2001, a customer filed an investment related complaint involving Gurien’s conduct in which the customer requested compensatory damages based upon alleged churning of the customer’s account and an unauthorized annuity purchase by Gurien during the time that he was associated with Zachary Jackson Securities LP. The complaint was denied.
Gurien was also referenced in a FINRA securities arbitration claim that was settled to resolve allegations that Gurien made unsuitable recommendations in over-the-counter equities when Gurien was associated with First Union Securities (now known as Wachovia Securities). FINRA Arbitration No. 04-07424 (March 28, 2005).
On October 28, 2015, another customer filed a complaint involving Gurien’s conduct in which the customer requested compensatory damages based upon allegations that Gurien provided unsuitable advice to the customer during the time that Gurien was associated with Merrill Lynch. The securities broker dealer denied this complaint.
Gurien has been associated with Merrill Lynch in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida since August 19, 2011.
