Yong Seok Chang, of Seattle, Washington, a stockbroker registered with Independent Financial Group LLC, is the subject of a customer initiated investment related Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) securities arbitration claim in which the customer requested $45,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that Chang made unsuitable recommendations in non-traded real estate investment trusts (REITs) when Chang was associated with Independent Financial Group LLC. On May 22, 2023, a customer initiated investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim involving Chang’s conduct was settled for $87,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that Chang made unsuitable recommendations in non-traded REITs during the time that Chang was associated with Independent Financial Group LLC. On October 12, 2023, a customer filed a FINRA securities arbitration claim involving Chang’s conduct while associated with Independent Financial Group LLC. The claim alleges that Chang provided unsuitable advice to the customer regarding structured products, resulting in losses. The customer is seeking $200,000.00 in damages. Chang has been associated with Independent Financial Group LLC in Seattle, Washington, since October 27, 2008, as both a stockbroker and an investment advisor representative.
