William David Utanski of Fort Lauderdale Florida a stockbroker formerly employed by Ameriprise Financial Services Inc. is referenced in a customer initiated investment related complaint which was settled on August 7, 2017 to resolve accusations that the customer was inappropriately placed into speculative over-the-counter equities by Utanski during the time he was associated with Ameriprise Financial Services.
Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Public Disclosure reveals that Utanski is referenced in three additional customer initiated investment related disputes containing allegations of Utanski’s violative conduct while employed with Ameriprise Financial Services Inc. Particularly, a customer initiated investment related arbitration claim regarding Utanski’s activities was settled for $100,000.00 in damages based upon accusations that false or misleading statements and guarantees had been made to the customer concerning equities held in the customer’s account; and the customer was provided poor advice concerning the purchase of ten thousand shares of Dendreon Corporation call options and stock. On March 7, 2016, another customer initiated investment related complaint concerning Utanski’s conduct was settled to resolve allegations that the customer was inappropriately advised to place excess concentrations of the customer’s assets in equities issued by Dendreon Corporation. Thereafter, a customer initiated investment related arbitration claim involving Utanski’s activities was settled for $20,000.00 in damages supported by accusations that the customer’s account was churned; and unsuitable investment recommendations were made to the customer concerning Dendreon Corporation stock positions as well as closed end mutual funds.
