William Word Huthnance of Houston, Texas, a stockbroker registered with UBS Financial Services Inc., was the subject of a customer initiated investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim that was settled for $305,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that Huthnance made unsuitable recommendations to the customer and made misrepresentations of material fact in connection with the sale of investments during the time that Huthnance was associated with UBS Financial Services Inc. On August 6, 2019, a customer filed an investment related complaint involving Huthnance’s conduct in which the customer requested compensation based upon allegations that Huthnance made unsuitable recommendations of hedge funds.
On February 8, 2022, a customer filed an investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim involving Huthnance’s conduct in which the customer requested $300,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that Huthnance made unsuitable recommendations and misrepresentations in connection with options overlay strategies. On February 24, 2022, an additional customer filed an investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim involving Huthnance’s conduct in which the customer requested $500,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that Huthnance made misrepresentations and unsuitable recommendations of options. On May 5, 2022, a different customer initiated investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim involving Huthnance’s conduct was settled for $580,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that Huthnance made misrepresentations of material fact and made unsuitable recommendations of hedge funds, structured notes, options, and private equity funds.
