Ryan Thomas Murphy, of Savannah, Georgia, a stockbroker previously registered with Truist Investment Services Inc., has been barred from associating with any Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) member in any capacity because Murphy refused to testify or provide documents during a FINRA investigation. Letter of Acceptance, Waiver, and Consent No. 2024082044301 (August 14, 2024).

According to the AWC, Truist Investment Services filed a Uniform Termination Notice for Securities Industry Registration (Form U5), alleging unauthorized communications with customers and unauthorized use of consolidated statements for customers, in violation of company policy.

FINRA investigated Murphy following receipt of the Form U5 submitted by Truist Investment Services. On July 17, 2024, FINRA sent requests to Murphy for information and documents and asked him to appear for testimony regarding the circumstances surrounding his termination. Murphy acknowledged receipt of these requests. However, he told FINRA that he would not provide the requested information or appear for testimony at any time. Therefore, Murphy violated both FINRA Rules 2010 and 8210.

Murphy was associated with Truist Investment Services Inc. in Savannah, Georgia from February 13, 2006, to May 3, 2024.
