Raul Jorge Benitez of Miami, Florida, a stockbroker formerly registered with SunTrust Investment Services Inc., is referenced in a customer initiated investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim where the customer sought $218,707.00 in damages supported by accusations of unsuitable transactions involving Northstar. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Arbitration No. 21-01667 (July 6, 2021). The claim alleges that the customer sustained damages on a GIC purchase during the time that Benitez was employed by SunTrust Investment Services.
Benitez has been identified in three more customer initiated investment related disputes containing allegations of his misconduct during the time that he was associated with securities broker dealers, including Chase Investment Services Corp. and Wells Fargo Clearing Services LLC. FINRA Public Disclosure shows that Benitez is identified in a customer initiated investment related written complaint in which the customer requested compensatory damages based upon accusations of misrepresentation and forgery of a mutual fund account document when Benitez was registered with Chase Investment Services Corp.
Benitez is also the subject of a customer initiated investment related written complaint which was resolved for $8,486.24 on March 11, 2019, founded on allegations of an unsuitable recommendation by Benitez concerning a managed account at SunTrust Investment Services.
On January 31, 2022, another customer initiated investment related arbitration claim concerning Benitez’s conduct was settled for $137,500.00 in damages supported by accusations of Benitez making an unsuitable investment recommendation to the customer in 2019, while Benitez was associated with Wells Fargo Clearing Services LLC. FINRA Arbitration No. 20-03932. According to the claim, the customer experienced damages by investing in a strategy that used a securities portfolio as collateral for a loan.
Benitez was employed by SunTrust Investment Services as a stockbroker between September 22, 2014, and October 2, 2018, and registered with SunTrust Advisory Services as an investment adviser representative between August 24, 2016, and October 2, 2018. Since September 27, 2018, Benitez has been associated with Wells Fargo Clearing Services as a stockbroker and investment adviser representative.
