Darrell Walter Rideaux of Los Angeles California is a stockbroker formerly registered with Morgan Stanley who has been barred from associating with any Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) member in any capacity based upon consenting to findings that he failed to testify before FINRA personnel in an investigation into allegations of Rideaux selling away from Morgan Stanley. Letter of Acceptance Waiver and Consent No. 2016049407601 (Feb. 16, 2018).
According to the AWC, FINRA became apprised that Rideaux was subject of two civil actions based on allegations that private placements solicited by Rideaux caused investors to sustain losses. Apparently, on January 5, 2018, FINRA requested that Rideaux testify before FINRA personnel in Los Angeles, California on February 9, 2018. The AWC stated that Rideaux confirmed with FINRA that he received the regulator’s request for his testimony but would not be cooperating in FINRA’s investigation at any time. Consequently, FINRA found that Rideaux’s failure to testify was violative of FINRA Rules 2010 and 8210.
FINRA Public Disclosure reveals that Rideaux has been identified in two customer initiated investment related disputes that pertain to accusations of Rideaux’s misconduct while employed with Morgan Stanley. Specifically, a customer filed an investment related civil action involving Rideaux’s conduct in the Superior Court of Los Angeles, California, in which the customer sought $10,000,000.00 in damages supported by allegations that between October of 2014 and May of 2015, Rideaux made misrepresentations to the customer concerning corporate debt investment transactions that Rideaux had effected away from Morgan Stanley. Civil Action No. BG613330 (Mar. 29, 2016).
Then, a customer filed an investment related civil action regarding Rideaux’s activities in the Superior Court of Los Angeles, California, where the customer alleged that Rideaux solicited investments from the customer that were not approved by Morgan Stanley and which were intended to be executed by Rideaux outside the auspices of his employer between 2014 and 2015. Civil Action No. BC659671 (June 6, 2017).
After Rideaux’s termination from Morgan Stanley, he was registered with NMS Capital Advisors, LLC between August 25, 2016 and May 22, 2017.
