Mary Joanne Petretto (also known as MJ Petretto), of Guilford, Connecticut, a stockbroker registered with Innovation Partners LLC, was the subject of a customer initiated investment related complaint that was settled on April 17, 2024, for $22,799.78 in damages based upon allegations that Petretto made misrepresentations of material fact in connection with the sale of variable annuities when Petretto was associated with Innovation Partners LLC.
FINRA Public Disclosure shows that Petretto is referenced in four other customer initiated investment related disputes concerning Petretto’s conduct while associated with securities broker dealers. On April 23, 2023, a customer filed an investment related complaint involving Petretto’s conduct in which the customer requested $156,068.81 damages based upon allegations that Petretto omitted material facts about surrender charges that would be assessed on variable annuities purchased by the customer when Petretto was associated with NYLife Securities LLC. This complaint was denied.
On June 4, 2008, another customer filed an investment related complaint involving Petretto’s conduct in which the customer requested compensatory damages based upon allegations that Petretto misled the customer about risks of life insurance products during the time that Petretto was associated with NYLIFE Securities LLC. This complaint was denied.
On January 29, 2010, a customer initiated investment related complaint involving Petretto’s conduct was settled for $13,055.85 in damages based upon allegations that Petretto made unsuitable recommendations in variable annuities.
Petretto was also referenced in a complaint filed on March 10, 2013, in which the customer requested compensatory damages based upon allegations that Petretto made unsuitable recommendations in a variable universal life insurance policy. Additionally, the customer alleged a pattern of churning of securities and insurance products. The securities broker dealer denied the complaint.
Petretto has been associated with Innovation Partners LLC in Guilford, Connecticut since November 11, 2015.
