Mark Gilbert Beesley, a former stockbroker with Arthur W. Wood Company Inc. in Boston, Massachusetts, has been barred by Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) effective October 17, 2024. The decision follows Beesley’s refusal to provide on-the-record testimony as part of a FINRA investigation into allegations of undisclosed outside business activities. Letter of Acceptance, Waiver, and Consent (AWC) 2023079291701.
On April 17, 2023, Arthur W. Wood Company Inc. filed a Uniform Termination Notice (Form U5), citing Beesley’s termination due to lack of production.
On July 8, 2024, FINRA requested Beesley’s appearance for testimony under FINRA Rule 8210, which mandates cooperation in regulatory investigations. While Beesley acknowledged the request, he refused to comply. FINRA determined that his refusal violated both Rule 8210 and Rule 2010, which requires members to maintain high ethical standards. As a result, Beesley consented to a permanent bar from associating with any FINRA member firm in any capacity.
Beesley was registered with Arthur W. Wood Company Inc. from August 24, 2021, until his termination on April 17, 2023. Prior to that, he was associated with LPL Financial LLC in Alexandria, Virginia, from March 11, 2019, to November 4, 2020.
