Joseph Dewey Jackson (also known as Joe Jackson and Joey Jackson), of Fayetteville, North Carolina, a stockbroker registered with Capital Investment Group Inc., is the subject of a customer initiated investment related Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) securities arbitration claim in which the customer requested $300,000.00 in damages based upon alleged failure to supervise, breach of contract, negligent misrepresentation, negligence, and breach of fiduciary duty in connection with the sale of direct investments, including GWG Holdings Class L Bonds when Jackson was associated with Capital Investment Group Inc. The customer alleged that they believed they were purchasing a fixed annuity but instead purchased a variable annuity, which subsequently lost value due to market decline. The complaint was denied.
On November 7, 2023, a customer initiated investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim involving Jackson’s conduct was settled for $150,000.00 in damages based upon alleged unsuitable recommendations of GWG Holdings Class L Bonds and annuities when Jackson was associated with Capital Investment Group Inc. On August 24, 2023, a customer filed an investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim involving Jackson’s conduct in which the customer requested $185,000.00 in damages based upon alleged breach of contract, negligent misrepresentation, negligence, and breach of fiduciary duty also in connection with the sale of GWG Holdings Class L Bonds.
