John Brendan Dobbertin of Fayetteville, New York, a stockbroker associated with American Portfolios Financial Services Inc., was the subject of a customer initiated investment related Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) securities arbitration claim that was settled for $19,500.00 in damages based upon allegations that Dobbertin violated FINRA suitability rules, acted negligently, made misrepresentations and omissions of material facts, as well as breached his fiduciary duty in connection with the sale of real estate securities when Dobbertin was associated with American Portfolios Financial Services Inc. FINRA Arbitration No. 21-00992 (June 3, 2022).

This is not the first time that Dobbertin has been referenced in a customer initiated investment related dispute concerning Dobbertin’s conduct in the securities industry. FINRA Public Disclosure shows that Dobbertin was also referenced in a customer initiated investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim that was settled for $175,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that Dobbertin made misrepresentations and breached his fiduciary duty in connection with the sale of real estate securities and variable annuities during the time that Dobbertin was associated with American Portfolios Financial Services Inc. FINRA Arbitration No. 19-01166 (September 18, 2020).

Dobbertin is currently associated with IBN Financial Services Inc., located in New York, as of November 1, 2022. Previously, he was associated with American Portfolios Advisors Inc. in Holbrook, New York from April 8, 2010, to November 1, 2022, and American Portfolios Financial Services Inc. in Fayetteville, New York from September 4, 2009, to November 1, 2022.
