Jason Leonard Garofalo of Las Vegas, Nevada, a stockbroker registered with Ameriprise Financial Services LLC, is the subject of a customer initiated investment related Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) securities arbitration claim in which the customer requested $150,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that Garofalo made unsuitable recommendations of Hospitality Investor’s Trust and Inventrust Real Estate Investment Trusts or REITs during the time that Garofalo was associated with Ameriprise Financial Services LLC. FINRA Arbitration No. 21-02782 (November 5, 2021).
This is not the first time that Garofalo has been referenced in a customer initiated investment related dispute concerning Garofalo’s conduct in the securities industry. FINRA Public Disclosure shows that Garofalo was the subject of a customer initiated investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim in which the customer was awarded $184,391.00 in compensatory damages. FINRA Arbitration No. 12-03288 (March 2, 2015). The Statement of Claim alleged that Garofalo breached a contract, committed fraud, violated FINRA rules, violated state securities laws, made omissions and misrepresentations of material fact, was negligent, and made unsuitable recommendations of private placements when Garofalo was associated with Tricor Financial LLC.
Garofalo has been associated with Ameriprise Financial Services LLC as a stockbroker and as an investment advisor representative since November 13, 2015.
