Charla Cynthia Kabana, of Huntington Beach, California, a stockbroker formerly registered with Sagepoint Financial Inc., is the subject of a customer initiated investment related written complaint on August 27, 2021, in which the customer requested $5,500.00 in damages founded on accusations of an unsuitable annuity sale by Kabana while she was employed by Sagepoint Financial.
Kabana has been barred from associating with any Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) member in any capacity supported by findings that she failed to cooperate with a FINRA investigation concerning allegations of her bad annuity business practices when she was registered with LPL Financial. Letter of Acceptance, Waiver, and Consent No. 2016050951001 (August 21, 2018).
According to the AWC, FINRA learned from LPL Financial that it discharged Kabana based upon accusations of misconduct. While under investigation, Kabana was expected by FINRA to provide information and documents and to testify in regard to the allegations made against her. The regulator states that Kabana refused to cooperate as she did not hand over documents or testify in the investigation. FINRA found that she violated Rules 2010 and 8210 for this reason.
Kabana’s registration with Sagepoint Financial was terminated on August 2, 2018.
