Carey Allen James, of Arroyo Grande, California, a stockbroker registered with Centaurus Financial Inc., is the subject of a customer initiated investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim in which the customer requested $100,000.00 in damages due to the unsuitable investment recommendation of illiquid real estate securities when James was associated with Centaurus Financial Inc. FINRA Arbitration No. 23-01874 (July 10, 2023). According to the claim, the REITs had performed poorly.

This is not the first time that James has been referenced in a customer initiated investment related dispute concerning James’s conduct in the securities industry. FINRA Public Disclosure shows that James was also referenced in a customer initiated investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim that was settled for $35,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that James breached his fiduciary duties and provided unsuitable advice to the customer about corporate bonds during the period that James was associated with Centaurus Financial Inc. FINRA Arbitration No. 22-01631 (December 18, 2023).

James was also referenced in a customer initiated investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim that was settled for $35,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that James made unsuitable recommendations in real estate securities when James was associated with Centaurus Financial Inc. FINRA Arbitration No. 22-02008 (March 6, 2024).

James has been associated with Centaurus Financial Inc. in Arroyo Grande, California, as a stockbroker since August 19, 2004. He has been associated with Centaurus as an investment advisor representative since September 10, 2009.
