Brett Andrew Laferrera of Birmingham Alabama a stockbroker formerly registered with VALIC Financial Advisors Inc. has been terminated from the firm on January 4, 2016 while under VALIC’s internal investigation for possible sales practice violations and violations of the firm’s code of conduct.
Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Public Disclosure confirms that Laferrera has been identified in two customer initiated investment related disputes pertaining to accusations of Laferrera’s violative conduct while registered with VFA Financial Advisors, Inc. and VALIC Financial Advisors Inc. Specifically, on March 19, 2013, a customer initiated investment related complaint concerning Laferrera’s activities was settled for $9,861.40 in damages supported by allegations that the customer was not provided information regarding the fees associated with a variable annuity investment.
Then, on January 28, 2016, a customer filed an investment related complaint involving Laferrera’s activities in which the customer requested unspecified damages founded on accusations that Laferrera possibly misappropriated funds that were intended for the customer’s retirement account.
Laferrera has been associated with MML Investors Services LLC since March 25, 2017.
