Barry Stuart Kemp, of Brentwood, Tennessee, a stockbroker registered with Fifth Third Securities Inc., was the subject of a customer initiated investment related complaint that was settled on November 9, 2022, for $13,000.00 in damages. The complaint was based upon allegations that Kemp made the unsuitable investment recommendation of corporate bonds during the time that Kemp was associated with Fifth Third Securities Inc.
This is not the first time that Kemp has been referenced in a customer initiated investment related dispute concerning his conduct in the securities industry. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Public Disclosure shows that Kemp is also referenced in a customer initiated investment related complaint filed on April 23, 2002, in which the customer requested $14,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that when Kemp was associated with American Express Financial Advisors, he made omissions about the risk of an insurance policy lapse and did not disclose the minimum premiums needed to maintain the policy. According to the complaint, the customer thought that their policy would remain in force for up to ten years. The securities broker dealer denied the complaint.
Kemp was associated with Fifth Third Securities Inc. in Brentwood, Tennessee, from July 7, 2006, to November 16, 2023. He has been associated with LPL Financial LLC in Franklin, Tennessee, since November 15, 2023.
