Joseph John Oakes III of Livingston New Jersey a stockbroker currently registered with Signator Investors Inc. is the subject of a customer initiated investment related civil action where the customer requested damages estimated to exceed $5,000.00 in damages founded on accusations of breach of contract relating to the customer’s insurance policy. Civil Action No. MRS-L-2766-17 (Feb. 9, 2018).

Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Public Disclosure confirms that Oakes is referenced in three more customer initiated investment related disputes pertaining to allegations of Oakes’ wrongdoing during the time that he was employed by Signator Investors and John Hancock. Specifically, a customer initiated investment related civil action involving Oakes’ conduct was settled for $250,000.00 in damages founded on allegations that Oakes supervised a registered representative who engaged in violative sales practices concerning the replacement of insurance policies and mischaracterized variable life insurance policies. Civil Action No. L-8736-97 (Mar. 21, 2000).

Subsequently, a customer initiated investment related civil action involving Oakes’ activities was resolved for $70,000.00 in damages supported by accusations of faulty sales practices relating to an insurance policy purchased by the customer. Civil Action No. MRS-L-1540-98 (Aug. 21, 2001). Further, Oakes is referenced in a customer initiated investment related civil action that was settled to resolve accusations that Oakes supervised an agent who failed to apply the customer’s insurance premium payments, causing the customer’s insurance policy to lapse. Civil Action No. BERL-8149-00 (Nov. 1, 2001).
