Scott Vincent Kaup of Stuart Nebraska a stockbroker formerly registered with FSR Advisory Services is referenced in a customer initiated investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim in which the customer requested more than $5,000.00 in damages supported by accusations that Kaup provided unsuitable recommendations to the customer regarding private placements and real estate securities transactions during the time that Kaup was associated with VSR Financial Services. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Arbitration No. 21-00003 (Jan. 12, 2021).
FINRA Public Disclosure shows that Kaup has been identified in four additional customer initiated investment related disputes concerning allegations of his wrongful actions when associated with VSR Financial Services. On November 17, 2017, a customer initiated investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim involving Kaup’s conduct was resolved for $173,000.00 in damages founded on accusations of negligence relating to the customer’s investments in REITs, oil and gas securities, and direct investments including direct participation programs or limited partnerships. FINRA Arbitration No. 16-01088. The claim alleges that Kaup breached a fiduciary duty to the customer. According to the claim, transactions effected in the customer’s account were not suitable. The customer was allegedly defrauded.
Kaup is also the subject of a customer initiated investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim which was resolved for $998,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that Kaup did not perform due diligence on investments before making alternative investment recommendations to the customer at VSR Financial Services. FINRA Arbitration No. 18-01244 (June 27, 2019). According to the claim, Kaup made misrepresentations and omissions regarding DPPs and LPs as well as real estate securities. The claim also alleges bad investment advice by the stockbroker. VSR Financial Services allegedly failed to supervise him.
Kaup is referenced in a customer initiated investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim which was settled for $42,500.00 in damages based on accusations of Kaup giving bad investment advice and making misrepresentations and omissions to the customer as it related to a real estate security and direct investment purchased during the period that Kaup was associated with VSR Financial Services. FINRA Arbitration No. 19-00309 (Aug. 12, 2019).
On November 16, 2020, another customer filed an investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim regarding Kaup’s conduct where the customer sought $665,000.00 in damages founded on allegations of unsuitable recommendations by Kaup at VSR Financial Services resulting in the customer experiencing damages on private placements and real estate securities.
Between September 1, 2016 and September 20, 2019, Kaup was registered with Summit Brokerage Services. Since March 22, 2021, he has been registered as both a stockbroker and investment adviser representative of Cetera Advisor Networks LLC.
