Scott Callis Barcomb, of Sarasota, Florida, a stockbroker registered with Berthel Fisher Company Financial Services Inc., was the subject of a customer initiated investment related Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) securities arbitration claim that was settled for $10,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that Barcomb failed to conduct adequate due diligence, failed to supervise certain representatives, and made the unsuitable investment recommendation of real estate securities during the time that Barcomb was associated with Berthel Fisher Company Financial Services Inc. FINRA Arbitration No. 20-02105 (December 2, 2021).

FINRA Public Disclosure shows that Barcomb is referenced in four other customer initiated investment related disputes concerning Barcomb’s conduct while associated with securities broker dealers. On September 18, 2007, a customer initiated investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim involving Barcomb’s conduct was settled for $10,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that Barcomb made the unsuitable investment recommendation of variable annuities when Barcomb was associated with Berthel Fisher Company Financial Services Inc. FINRA Arbitration No. 07-02614.

On June 12, 2008, a customer complaint involving Barcomb’s conduct was settled to resolve allegations that Barcomb failed to cancel the customer’s variable annuity contract after the customer made the request. Barcomb was also referenced in a FINRA securities arbitration claim that was settled for $200,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that Barcomb and the securities broker dealer failed to conduct due diligence on tenants-in-common (TIC) products when Barcomb was associated with Berthel Fisher Company Financial Services Inc. FINRA Arbitration No. 10-02573 (June 1, 2011).

Barcomb is also referenced in a customer complaint that was settled on January 19, 2012, for $20,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that Barcomb failed to correctly advise the customer about tax consequences in connection with the sale of variable annuities.

Barcomb has been associated with Berthel Fisher Company Financial Services Inc. in Sarasota, Florida since March 31, 2003, and BFC Planning Inc. in Sarasota, Florida since October 8, 2021.
