Robert Douglas Armstrong (also known as R. Douglas Armstrong) of Boca Raton Florida a stockbroker formerly registered with Dawson James Securities Inc. is the subject of a customer initiated investment related written complaint on May 12, 2021 where the customer sought $2,000,000.00 in damages based on accusations of Armstrong’s failure to sell the customer’s penny stock positions in February 2021 during the time that he was associated with Dawson James Securities.
Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Public Disclosure states that Armstrong has been identified in seven additional customer initiated investment related disputes containing allegations of his wrongdoing when he was associated with Dawson James Securities Inc. On July 1, 2019, a customer initiated investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim involving Armstrong’s conduct was settled for $150,000.00 in damages founded on accusations that Armstrong provided unsuitable recommendations to the customer and had misled them as it pertained to promissory note transactions. Armstrong is also referenced in a customer initiated investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim which was resolved for $62,500.00 in damages based upon allegations of unsuitable investment recommendations by Armstrong concerning interests in limited partnerships or direct participation programs. FINRA Arbitration No. 18-00502 (June 24, 2019). According to the claim, Armstrong made promissory statements and misrepresentations to the customer regarding those products.
On December 31, 2018, another customer filed an investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim concerning Armstrong’s activities in which the customer requested $375,000.00 in damages supported by accusations that Armstrong omitted key information about the customer’s investments and had made misstatements concerning those products purchased by the customer when Armstrong was associated with Dawson James Securities. On August 5, 2019, a different customer initiated investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim regarding Armstrong’s activities was settled for $265,000.00 in damages founded on allegations of unsuitable transactions and misrepresentations concerning private placements. FINRA Arbitration No. 18-01176. Armstrong is also the subject of a customer initiated investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim which was resolved for $96,000.00 in damages based on accusations of misrepresented private placements and unsuitable recommendations by Armstrong when he was associated with Dawson James Securities. On July 8, 2021, an additional customer initiated investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim involving Armstrong’s conduct was settled for $35,000.00 in damages supported by allegations of unsuitable advice, omissions and false statements by Armstrong. FINRA Arbitration No. 19-00123. The claim alleges that the customer’s account had been invested negligently.
Armstrong has been registered with Dawson James Securities since August 10, 2012.
