Hugo Hernandez, a stockbroker formerly registered with MML Investors Services, also known as MassMutual was barred by FINRA for refusing to provide on-the-record testimony to FINRA as part of its investigation “into whether [he] failed to return investment funds, engaged in undisclosed private securities transactions and outside business activities, or borrowed money from customers in violation of FINRA rules.” Letter of Acceptance, Waiver, and Consent No. 2024082783901.
According to FINRA, based upon the disciplinary action against Mr. Hernandez filed in January 2026, Hernandez refused to provide on-the-record testimony requested by FINRA as part of its investigation “into whether [he] failed to return investment funds, engaged in undisclosed private securities transactions and outside business activities, or borrowed money from customers in violation of FINRA rules.”
FINRA found that Hernandez’ refusal violated Rule 8210, and as a result, Hernandez was barred from associating with any member firm in any capacity.
FINRA Public Disclosure also shows that in July 2024, Hernandez was terminated by MML Investors Services based upon the allegation that he engaged in “prohibited loans with clients and potential clients and participation in undisclosed outside business activities and an unapproved private securities transaction.” FINRA Public Disclosure also shows a investor initiated customer complaint alleging that Hernandez misappropriated customer investment funds. The complaint was settled for $29,550.
