John R. Mateyko, of Rolling Meadows, Illinois, a stockbroker formerly registered with World Equity Group, Inc., is identified in a customer initiated investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim where the customer sought $500,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that Mateyko made misrepresentations regarding business development programs and real estate investment trusts between 2014 and 2018 while he was registered with World Equity Group. FINRA Arbitration No. 21-01674 (July 1, 2021). According to the claim, the stockbroker’s alternative investment sales were unsuitable. The claim also alleges that World Equity Group failed to supervise Mateyko’s activities, resulting in damages to the customer.
FINRA Public Disclosure shows that Mateyko has been identified in three more customer initiated investment related disputes containing accusations of his wrongdoing during the period that he was employed by World Equity Group Inc. On August 7, 2020, a customer filed an investment related complaint regarding Mateyko’s activities. The customer requested more than $5,000.00 in damages supported by allegations that three real estate investment trust sales were unsuitable for the customer.
On October 2, 2020, a customer initiated investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim involving Mateyko’s conduct was resolved for $23,000.00 in damages founded on accusations of Mateyko’s negligence and breach of fiduciary duty pertaining to the customer’s real estate security purchases made through Mateyko and World Equity Group. FINRA Arbitration No. 19-01383 (October 2, 2020).
Mateyko is also referenced in a customer initiated investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim where the customer sought compensatory damages based upon allegations of breach of fiduciary duty by Mateyko regarding REITs during the time that he was associated with World Equity Group. FINRA Arbitration No. 20-02665 (May 10, 2021). According to the claim, Mateyko’s negligence with REITs resulted in damages to the customer.
Between December 14, 2010, and October 9, 2018, Mateyko was registered with World Equity Group as a stockbroker and investment adviser representative. Since September 25, 2018, Mateyko has been registered with PeachCap Securities Inc. as a stockbroker and PeachCap Tax Advisory LLC as an investment adviser representative.
