John Marvin Butler, of Salt Lake City, Utah, a stockbroker registered with Investment Security Corporation, was the subject of a customer initiated investment related Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) securities arbitration claim that was settled for $12,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that Butler breached his fiduciary duties, acted negligently, made misrepresentations of material fact, failed to supervise certain representatives, made unsuitable investment recommendations, and failed to perform due diligence in connection with the sale of private placements during the time that Butler was associated with Investment Security Corporation. FINRA Arbitration No. 21-02764 (September 26, 2022).

FINRA Public Disclosure shows that Butler was referenced in four other customer initiated investment related disputes concerning Butler’s conduct while associated with securities broker dealers. On June 11, 2003, a customer initiated investment related complaint involving Butler’s conduct was settled for $3,926.57 in damages based upon allegations that Butler failed to follow the customer’s instructions, inappropriately used margin, and engaged in unauthorized trading in mutual funds when Butler was associated with Round Hill Securities Inc.

On December 9, 2015, a different FINRA securities arbitration claim involving Butler’s conduct was settled for $5,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that Butler was negligent, breached his fiduciary duties, committed fraud, failed to supervise certain representatives, failed to perform due diligence, and made unsuitable recommendations in real estate securities when Butler was associated with Investment Security Corporation. FINRA Arbitration No. 14-03499.

Butler was also referenced in a FINRA securities arbitration claim that was settled for $6,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that Butler violated state securities laws, negligently supervised representatives, committed fraud, breached his fiduciary duties, and made unsuitable recommendations in real estate securities during the time that Butler was associated with Investment Security Corporation. FINRA Arbitration No. 15-01941 (March 2, 2016).

Butler has been associated with Investment Security Corporation in Salt Lake City, Utah, since July 28, 2006.
