John Charles Broughton of Johnston Rhode Island a stockbroker formerly registered with Cetera Investment Services LLC is the subject of a customer initiated investment related written complaint on July 16, 2020, where the customer sought compensatory damages based on accusations that Broughton made misrepresentations to them regarding the annuity that they purchased through Cetera Investment Services.
Broughton has been identified in three additional customer initiated investment related disputes regarding allegations of his wrongdoing while employed by NatCity Investments and Cetera Investment Services. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Public Disclosure shows that a customer filed an investment related complaint concerning Broughton’s activities that was settled to resolve accusations that they received inappropriate investment advice from Broughton during the period that he was employed by NatCity Investments.
Broughton is also referenced in a customer initiated investment related written complaint that was settled to resolve allegations that the customer was placed into underperforming investments. The complaint alleges that Broughton made misrepresentations to them regarding preferred stock. Another customer initiated investment related complaint regarding Broughton’s conduct was settled to resolve accusations of the financial advisor’s misrepresentations relating to a preferred stock sale when he was registered with NatCity insurance Services and NatCity Investments.
Broughton’s registration with Cetera Investment Services has been terminated as of April 24, 2020. Between April 28, 2020, and January 26, 2021, Broughton was associated with Citizens Securities Inc.
