Jermaine Kahlil also known as Jermaine Benjamin, of Tampa, Florida, a stockbroker registered with Pruco Securities LLC, has been barred from associating with any Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) member in any capacity because Benjamin failed to provide information and documents to FINRA when it investigated possible violations of FINRA rules. Letter of Acceptance, Waiver, and Consent No. 2022075106101 (June 7, 2023).
On May 25, 2022, Pruco submitted a Uniform Termination Notice for Securities Industry Registration (Form U5) regarding Benjamin, revealing that it had received a written complaint from a customer. The complaint accused Benjamin, who was registered with Pruco at the time, of misappropriation and unauthorized transactions.
FINRA’s investigation arose when it reviewed the revised Form U5 submitted by Pruco. the AWC stated that on February 14, 2023, as part of the regulator’s investigation into the issue surrounding the revised Form U5, FINRA requested Benjamin to provide information and documents according to FINRA Rule 8210. Based on a phone call between his lawyer and FINRA on May 22, 2023, Benjamin confirmed that he got FINRA’s request but refused to hand over the requested information and documents.
By not complying with the investigation, FINRA found that Benjamin violated Rules 2010 and 8210.
Public Disclosure shows that Benjamin is referenced in a customer initiated investment related complaint filed on May 18, 2022, in which the customer requested compensatory damages based upon allegations that Benjamin engaged in unauthorized trading and misappropriated funds from the customer when Benjamin was registered with Pruco Securities LLC. The securities broker dealer denied the complaint.
Benjamin was registered with Pruco Securities LLC as a stockbroker between February 1, 2013, and July 2, 2020. He was registered with Raymond James Financial Services Inc. between July 29, 2020, and April 12, 2022.
