Jason Patrick Hamby, of Blacksburg, Virginia, a stockbroker formerly registered with Allstate Financial Services, has been barred from associating with any Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) member in any capacity based upon findings that Hamby failed to cooperate with a FINRA investigation which concerned accusations of his unauthorized activities involving an unregistered individual. Letter of Acceptance, Waiver, and Consent No. 2019064729704 (December 22, 2021).
According to the AWC, on October 23, 2020, FINRA was made aware by Allstate Financial Services that it terminated Hamby as a stockbroker. Allstate alleged that Hamby got an unregistered person involved in activities that required stockbroker registration. FINRA began to investigate Hamby’s activities to see if he violated FINRA rules.
Hamby cooperated with FINRA’s investigation at first, but he stopped in November of 2021. The regulator asked for Hamby to make an appearance and testify in response to the allegations that Allstate Financial Services made against him. On November 17, 2021, Hamby’s lawyer informed FINRA that Hamby would not testify at any time. Hamby violated FINRA Rules 2010 and 8210 by obstructing the investigation.
Hamby was registered with Allstate Financial Services between November 13, 2008, and October 23, 2020.
