James V. Peters (also known as Jim Peters), of Costa Mesa, California, a stockbroker registered with Centaurus Financial Inc., is the subject of two customer initiated investment related disputes involving allegations that Peters made unsuitable investment recommendations.

Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Public Disclosure shows that the first dispute was initiated by customers on November 3, 2023. The customers alleged that Peters gave unsuitable advice and breached his fiduciary duty in December 2020. The customers requested $85,000.00 in damages.  As of October 7,2024, this case is pending. The second customer initiated investment related dispute, filed on August 15, 2022, involved allegations that Peters recommended an unsuitable investment in September 2020. The customer requested $200,000.00 in damages. On October 17, 2023, the matter was resolved through Centaurus Financial paying $35,000.00 in damages to the customer. FINRA Arbitration No. 22-01803.

Peters has been associated with Centaurus Financial Inc. as a stockbroker since May 7, 2012, and as an investment advisor representative since May 22, 2012.
