James Ernest Joly of East Greenwich Rhode Island a stockbroker currently registered with Cantella Co. Inc. is the subject of a customer initiated investment related complaint on April 21, 2020 where the customer sought $13,000.00 in damages supported by allegations of Joly causing an inappropriate asset transfer into an annuity.
Joly has been identified in four additional customer initiated investment related disputes regarding accusations of his violative conduct while he was employed by LPL Financial. FINRA Public Disclosure reveals that a customer filed an investment related complaint concerning Joly’s conduct in which they requested $87,500.00 in damages founded on allegations of unsuitable securities transactions by Joly at LPL Financial. The claim alleges that the customer sustained damages on investments in real estate investment trusts and a business development company.
Another customer filed an investment related complaint regarding Joly’s activities where they sought more than $5,000.00 in damages based upon accusations that they invested in unsuitable real estate investment trusts at LPL Financial. On September 22, 2017, an additional customer filed an investment related complaint involving Joly’s activities in which they sought compensatory damages supported by allegations that unauthorized transactions were effected in their LPL Financial account. The complaint also alleges that the customer’s non-traded REIT and mutual fund investments were unsuitable.
Joly is also referenced in a customer initiated investment related complaint on June 11, 2019 where the customer sought $84,687.00 in damages founded on accusations of the stockbroker having sold unsuitable private securities to them on May 16, 2019 while registered with LPL Financial.
FINRA Public Disclosure also confirms that Joly was terminated by Voya Financial Advisors based upon allegations that he had customers provide him with signed but otherwise blank forms. The securities broker dealer also alleged that Joly engaged in outside business activities.
Joly has been a stockbroker and investment adviser representative of Cantella since July 28, 2018.
