Amanda Yvette Burnett, of Tucker, Georgia, a stockbroker formerly registered with Invest Financial Corporation, has been barred from associating with any Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) member in any capacity based upon allegations that Burnett failed to provide FINRA with information relating to her business activities. Letter No. 2016051430501 (Jan. 30, 2017).
Rather than talk, Ms. Burnett decided to walk.
FINRA Public Disclosure reveals that Burnett has been identified in more customer initiated investment related disputes containing allegations of her misconduct during the period in which she was employed with invest Financial Corporation. Specifically, on January 5, 2005, a customer initiated investment related arbitration claim involving Burnett’s conduct was settled for $25,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that she made misrepresentations to the customer about a variable life insurance contract, and effected an insurance transaction that failed to conform with the customer’s objectives for investing.
On November 4, 2005, another customer filed an investment related written complaint regarding Burnett’s activities, wherein the customer sought $220,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that se effected an unsuitable variable annuity contract for the customer. Further, on August 20, 2010, a customer filed an investment related written complaint pertaining to Burnett’s conduct, in which the customer requested $19,832.30 in damages founded upon allegations that she poorly advised the customer in reference to a mutual fund transaction effected in the customer’s account.
Moreover, on March 30, 2017, a customer filed an investment related written complaint regarding Burnett’s activities, in which the customer requested $5,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that Burnett failed to apprise the customer about how a customer’s withdrawals would cause a reduction in the value of the death benefit and guaranteed income benefit on the customer’s variable annuity.
Additionally, Burnett was terminated by Invest Financial Corp. on September 20, 2016, based upon allegations that she entered into an unauthorized loan arrangement.
