Dean Harrison Grant of Milledgeville Georgia a stockbroker formerly registered with M Holdings Securities Inc. is the subject of a customer initiated investment related written complaint on August 12, 2019 where the customer requested compensatory damages founded on accusations that the customer had not been apprised of important investment information from Grant when making an annuity purchase through M Holdings Securities.
This is not the first time that Grant has been accused of misconduct by a customer of a securities broker dealer. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Public Disclosure confirms that a customer filed an investment related complaint regarding Grant’s conduct in which the customer sought $13,284.90 in damages supported by allegations that the customer was not provided with accurate information regarding the costs and renewal of a variable life insurance policy purchased through Grant at NYLife Securities. The complaint also alleges that the customer was not provided with an insurance contract.
FINRA Public Disclosure confirms that Grant has been barred from associating with any FINRA member in any capacity based upon findings that he failed to cooperate with its investigation into accusations of his forgery of documents and misuse of customer funds. According to the AWC, on February 13, 2019, Grant was asked by FINRA to provide documents and information in response to allegations of his conversion of customer funds, forgery, and his concealment of liens on his public record. Grant was not responsive to that request or to additional requests made by the regulator. On April 15, 2019, FINRA received confirmation from Grant’s attorney that the stockbroker would not cooperate in the investigation. Grant violated FINRA Rules 2010 and 8210 for hindering the investigation.
Grant has also been investigated by the State of Georgia for forgery, theft, insurance fraud and trafficking of an elder person. Georgia Statute 16-5-102.1 He was charged with those criminal offenses on March 1, 2019 in a Baldwin County, Georgia Superior Court. Criminal Action No. 18-324.
Grant was registered with M Holdings Securities between September 30, 2014 and January 25, 2019.
