Brenda Kay Rafferty (also known as Brenda O’Neal) of San Diego California a stockbroker formerly registered with LPL Financial LLC is referenced in a customer initiated investment related arbitration claim where the customer sought $40,000.00 in damages supported by accusations against Rafferty of negligence pertaining to the distribution of the customer’s individual retirement account. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Arbitration No. 17-00431 (Mar. 20, 2017).
FINRA Public Disclosure reveals that on August 10, 2009, a customer initiated investment related complaint regarding Rafferty’s conduct was resolved for $70,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that while Rafferty was associated with LPL Financial, Rafferty recommended that the customer use the proceeds from a home equity loan to invest in mutual fund investments that were in no way suitable for the customer given the customer’s risk tolerance and objectives. Rafferty’s registration with LPL Financial LLC was terminated on January 28, 2017. Since January 18, 2017, Rafferty has been employed by Commonwealth Financial Network.
