Benjamin William Belanger (also known as Ben Belanger), of Glendale, Arizona, a stockbroker registered with First Allied Securities Inc., was the subject of a customer initiated investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim that was settled for $75,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that Belanger made unsuitable investment recommendations, failed to perform due diligence, breached his fiduciary duties, made misrepresentations of material fact, was negligent, and failed to supervise certain registered representatives in connection with the sale of real estate investment trusts during the time that Belanger was associated with First Allied Securities Inc. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Arbitration No. 21-01659 (September 9, 2022).
FINRA Public Disclosure shows that Belanger has been referenced in three other customer initiated investment related disputes concerning Belanger’s conduct while associated with securities broker dealers. On August 17, 2010, a customer filed an investment related complaint involving Belanger’s conduct in which the customer requested $83,500.00 in damages based upon allegations that Belanger made misrepresentations of material fact in connection with the recommendation and sale of real estate securities when Belanger was associated with Multi-Financial Securities Corporation.
Belanger is also referenced in a FINRA securities arbitration claim in which the customer requested $100,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that Belanger made unsuitable recommendations of real estate securities during the time that Belanger was associated with First Allied Securities Inc. FINRA Arbitration No. 22-01260 (June 6, 2022).
On August 29, 2022, a different FINRA securities arbitration claim involving Belanger’s conduct was settled for $2,500.00 in damages based upon allegations that Belanger made unsuitable investment recommendations when Belanger was associated with Ameriprise Financial Services LLC. FINRA Arbitration No. 21-01659.
Belanger was associated with Ameriprise Financial Services LLC in Scottsdale, AZ, as a stockbroker from March of 2016 to May of 2021, and was associated with Ameriprise Financial Services LLC in Minneapolis, MN, as an investment advisor representative from April of 2016 to May of 2021.
Belanger has been associated with Kestra Investment Services LLC in Austin, Texas, as a stockbroker since May 5, 2021, and has been associated with Kestra Private Wealth Services LLC in Peoria, Arizona, as an investment advisor representative since May 6, 2021.
