Sign of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority

Robert Jonathan Spencer, of Cheektowaga, New York, a stockbroker formerly registered with Cetera Advisor Networks LLC, has been barred from associating with any Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) member in any capacity founded on findings that he failed to comply with a FINRA investigation regarding allegations of his private securities transactions when he was employed by Cetera Advisor Networks. Letter of Acceptance, Waiver, and Consent No. 2020068414601 (February 14, 2022).

According to the AWC, Spencer received FINRA’s request for information and documents on January 20, 2022, concerning its investigation into his potential private securities transactions. Spencer was supposed to respond to the regulator on February 3, 2022, but Spencer refused. On February 2, 2022, Spencer’s lawyer indicated to FINRA that Spencer received its request and would not provide information and documents in the investigation at any time. The regulator found Spencer to have violated FINRA Rules 2010 and 8210 for impeding the investigation.

Spencer was associated with Cetera Advisor Networks between September 3, 2013, and August 31, 2021.
