James Whitney Story (also known as Whit Story) of Fitzgerald Georgia a stockbroker formerly registered with Summit Brokerage Services is the subject of a customer initiated investment related complaint which was settled for $50,000.00 in damages founded on allegations that fixed income securities had been recommended by Story during the time that he was associated with Summit Brokerage Services.

Story has been identified in three more customer initiated investment related disputes involving accusations of his poor conduct during the period that he was registered with Edward Jones and Mutual Service Corporation. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Public Disclosure reveals that Story is the subject of a customer initiated investment related written complaint in which the customer requested $10,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that investment recommendations made by the stockbroker were not suitable and had caused the customer to experience losses.

Another customer filed an investment related complaint involving Story’s conduct where the customer sought $18,000.00 in damages supported by allegations that Story’s trading activities were purposely inappropriate and designed for the stockbroker to accrue commissions from the Mutual Service Corporation customer.

Story has also been referenced in a customer initiated investment related written complaint in which the customer requested $4,500.00 in damages based upon accusations of unsuitable investment advice by Story as it pertained to a variable annuity sold to the customer during the time that Story was associated with Mutual Service Corporation. The complaint alleges that misrepresentations had been made to the customer by Story.

FINRA BrokerCheck also confirms that Story has been discharged by prior securities broker dealer employer Raymond James Financial Services founded on allegations that Story neglected to comply with industry guidelines relating to contingent deferred sales charges.

Story’s registration with Summit Brokerage Services was terminated on September 20, 2019. The stockbroker has been registered with Cetera Advisor Networks LLC as a stockbroker since September 20, 2019 and has been registered with Summit Financial Group as an investment adviser representative since March 14, 2014.
