Viqas Akhtar, of Miami, Florida, a stockbroker registered with B. Riley Wealth Management, is the subject of a customer initiated investment related complaint filed on November 8, 2023, in which the customer requested $192,995.00 in damages based upon allegations that Akhtar engaged in unauthorized and excessive trading in equities and stocks when Akhtar was associated with B. Riley Wealth Management. This complaint was closed with no further action taken by the customer.

Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Public Disclosure shows that Akhtar is referenced in eight other customer initiated investment related disputes concerning Akhtar’s conduct while associated with securities broker dealers. On March 19, 2015, a customer filed an investment related complaint involving Akhtar’s conduct in which the customer requested $60,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that Akhtar engaged in unauthorized trading and made unsuitable recommendations in over-the-counter equities when Akhtar was associated with National Securities Corporation.

On July 26, 2015, another customer filed an investment related complaint involving Akhtar’s conduct in which the customer requested $50,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that Akhtar failed to follow instructions, engaged in unauthorized trading, and made misrepresentations of material fact in connection with the sale of over-the-counter equities when Akhtar was associated with National Securities Corporation. Those complaints were closed without further action taken by customers.

Akhtar was also referenced in a customer initiated investment related complaint that was settled on October 16, 2019, for $9,539.00 in damages based upon allegations that Akhtar engaged in unauthorized trading.

On October 26, 2021, a FINRA securities arbitration claim involving Akhtar’s conduct was settled for $37,500.00 in damages based upon allegations that Akhtar made unsuitable recommendations in private placements. FINRA Arbitration No. 20-00711.

Akhtar was also referenced in a FINRA securities arbitration claim that was settled for $37,500.00 in damages based upon allegations that Akhtar gave unsuitable advice to the customer about private placements. FINRA Arbitration No. 20-00747 (August 25, 2021).

On December 18, 2024, a FINRA securities arbitration claim involving Akhtar’s conduct was settled for $100,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that Akhtar engaged in unsuitable and excessive trading in stocks and special purpose vehicles (SPVs) when Akhtar was associated with National Securities Corporation. FINRA Arbitration No. 23-01808.

Akhtar was associated with National Securities Corporation in Miami, Florida from November 14, 2012 to July 22, 2022. Akhtar has been associated with B. Riley Wealth Management in Miami, Florida since July 22, 2022.
