Ramon Manuel Almonte, of San Juan, Puerto Rico, a stockbroker currently registered with UBS Financial Services Inc. and UBS Financial Services Incorporated of Puerto Rico, has been identified in one-hundred and twenty five customer initiated investment related disputes between January 27, 2014, and February 15, 2017, in which customers’ claims are based upon allegations that Almonte, inter alia, made misrepresentations to customers concerning Puerto Rico investments including closed-end funds and municipal bonds, in which he represented the Puerto Rico investments as guaranteed, one-hundred percent safe and zero risk. Customers alleged that Almonte made unsuitable investment recommendations; effected unsuitable transactions in the customers’ accounts, and overconcentrated their assets.
Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Public Disclosure additionally reveals that on December 4, 2013, a customer initiated investment related written complaint involving Almonte’s conduct was settled for $95,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that Almonte effected unsuitable structured corporate debt transactions in the customer’s account. Further, on November 20, 2015, a customer initiated investment related arbitration claim regarding Almonte’s activities was resolved for $75,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that Almonte made misrepresentations and unsuitable investment recommendations to the customer concerning closed end funds.
