Scott Edward Burns of Monroe Michigan a stockbroker formerly registered with LPL Financial LLC has been discharged on August 14, 2018 based upon the firm’s accusations that Burns committed a violation of LPL Financial LLC’s policy by way of engaging in unapproved outside business activities during the time that he was employed with the firm.

Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Public Disclosure confirms that on April 23, 2014, a customer initiated investment related complaint involving Burns’ activities was settled for $20,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that while Burns was associated with Fifth Third Securities Inc., misrepresentations had been made to the customer concerning a unit investment trust, inducing the customer to invest in a product in which the customer would not have otherwise invested.
