William Montgomery Cerf (also known as Monty Cerf) of New York, New York, a stockbroker currently registered with UBS Financial Services Inc., is the subject of a customer initiated investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim where the customer was awarded $1,109,484.73 in compensatory damages because UBS Financial Services Inc. was held liable on the customer’s claims. The Statement of Claim alleged that UBS Financial Services Inc. committed fraud, made misrepresentations, breached a fiduciary duty, acted negligently, breached a contract, and failed to supervise in connection with the recommendation and sale of options during the time that Cerf was associated with UBS Financial Services Inc. FINRA Public Disclosure shows that Cerf is referenced in five more customer initiated investment related disputes concerning Cerf’s activities while associated with securities broker dealers, including UBS Financial Services Inc. On August 14, 2019, a customer filed an investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim involving Cerf’s conduct where the customer sought $600,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that Cerf made misrepresentations and unsuitable recommendations in connection with the sale of an options strategy when Cerf was associated with UBS Financial Services Inc. FINRA Arbitration No. 19-02052.

On September 12, 2019, a customer filed an investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim involving Cerf’s activities where the customer requested $7,000,000.00 in damages based upon accusations that Cerf made unsuitable transactions and misrepresentations in connection with the recommendation and sale of options when Cerf was associated with UBS Financial Services Inc. FINRA Arbitration No. 19-02681.

On October 11, 2019, another customer filed an investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim involving Cerf’s conduct where the customer sought $5,000,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that Cerf made misrepresentations and unsuitable recommendations in connection with the sale of an options overlay strategy during the time that Cerf was associated with UBS Financial Services Inc. FINRA Arbitration No. 19-03072.

Cerf is also referenced in a customer initiated investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim where the customer requested $700,000.00 in damages based upon accusations that Cerf made unsuitable transactions and misrepresentations in connection with an options overlay strategy when Cerf was associated with UBS Financial Services Inc. FINRA Arbitration No. 20-01732 (June 16, 2020).

Cerf is also the subject of a customer initiated investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim where the customer was awarded $517,020.80 in compensatory damages because UBS Financial Services Inc. was held liable for sales practice violations. FINRA Arbitration No. 20-00459 (February 3, 2022). The Statement of Claim alleged that UBS Financial Services breached a contract, breached a fiduciary duty, failed to supervise, acted negligently, made misrepresentations, and committed fraud in connection with the recommendation and sale of Yield Enhancement Strategy when Cerf was associated with UBS Financial Services Inc.

Cerf has been registered with UBS Financial Services Inc. as a stockbroker and investment adviser representative since July 10, 2015.
