James Donald Routhier of Florham Park New Jersey a stockbroker formerly employed by Oppenheimer Co. Inc. is referenced in a customer initiated investment related arbitration claim which settled for $92,500.00 in damages based upon allegations that (1) Routhier gave bad investment recommendations to the customer in reference to the customer’s mutual fund purchases and (2) the customer’s account was over-concentrated in energy sector mutual fund investments that were not appropriate given the customer’s objectives for investing or tolerance for risk. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Arbitration No. 16-01958 (June 12, 2017).

Routhier’s registration with Oppenheimer Co. Inc. was terminated on January 19, 2016. FINRA Public Disclosure additionally reveals that Routhier has been terminated from prior employer, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, supported by accusations that he engaged in suspicious, private loan arrangements.

Since January 8, 2016, Routhier has been registered with Janney Montgomery Scott LLC.
