Dennis Anthony Contrestano of Fresno California a stockbroker formerly registered with RBC Capital Markets LLC has been fined $5,000.00 and suspended from associating with any Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) member in any capacity based upon consenting to findings that he executed trades in customer accounts without authorization. Letter of Acceptance Waiver and Consent No. 2017056766801 (June 28, 2018).

According to the AWC, from October 4, 2017 to October 24, 2017, six trades had been effected by Contrestano in a customer’s investment account. The AWC stated that the customer never consented to the transactions, and reported the issue to RBC Capital Markets. FINRA found that Contrestano’s conduct was violative of FINRA Rule 2010.

Contrestano was discharged from RBC Capital Markets LLC on November 29, 2017 based upon allegations that he exercised discretion in a customer’s investment account in violation of RBC Capital Markets’ policy. Since December 15, 2017, Contrestano has been associated with Independent Financial Group, LLC.
