Arbitration process

Charles Edward White II (also known as Chad White), of Providence, Rhode Island, a stockbroker formerly registered with Barrett Company, is identified in a customer initiated investment related FINRA securities arbitration claim where the customer requested $1,200,000.00 in damages founded on accusations of White having the customer invest in unsuitable securities in a customized portfolio while White was registered with Barrett Company. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Arbitration No. 21-02361 (September 23, 2021). According to the claim, the customer incurred losses on high-risk securities.

White has been identified in six additional customer initiated investment related disputes regarding allegations of his harmful activities when he was registered with Barrett Company. FINRA Public Disclosure shows that a customer initiated investment related complaint involving White’s conduct was resolved for $9,000.00 in damages based upon accusations of unsuitable over-the-counter equities trades by White.

Another customer initiated investment related complaint concerning White’s conduct was settled for $55,000.00 in damages supported by allegations of White’s unsuitable trading of common and preferred stocks in the customer’s Barrett Company account.

White is named in a customer initiated investment related arbitration claim in which the customer was awarded $267,890.06 in compensatory damages as FINRA Arbitration Panel found that White, Wilson Gordon Saville, and Barrett Company were liable on the customer’s claims of sales practice violations. The Statement of Claim alleges unsuitable transactions, negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, and Barrett Company’s failure to supervise securities transactions. FINRA Arbitration No. 14-00755 (May 24, 2016).

On April 12, 2021, a customer filed an investment related arbitration claim regarding White’s activities where the customer sought $1,600,000.00 in damages based upon accusations of them being sold unsuitable investments by White during the time that he was associated with Barrett Company. FINRA Arbitration No. 21-00876. The customer allegedly experienced a significant loss in value in their customized portfolio because of the stockbroker.

White is also the subject of a customer initiated investment related arbitration claim that was resolved for $51,000.00 in damages supported by allegations of White’s unsuitable investment transactions resulting in damages to the customer in 2020. FINRA Arbitration No. 21-00443 (November 2, 2021).

White is the subject of an investigation brought by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Securities Division on June 20, 2019. The Enforcement Section of the Securities Division is reviewing White’s involvement in customer accounts.

White was registered with Barrett Company between May 15, 1992, and November 5, 2020.
