Sign of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority

Carl Wade Thomason, of Overland Park, Kansas, a stockbroker formerly registered with OFG Financial Services Inc., has been barred from associating with any Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) member in any capacity founded on findings that he failed to cooperate with a FINRA investigation concerning accusations of his outside business activities. Letter of Acceptance, Waiver, and Consent No. 2020068668801 (January 31, 2022).

According to the AWC, Thomason became the subject of a FINRA investigation relating to potential loans he took from customers and for his potential misrepresentations to the securities broker dealer and FINRA regarding his activities. Thomason was discharged by OFG Financial Services on November 23, 2021, supported by accusations of his misrepresentations and customer loan arrangements.

On January 21, 2022, Thomason was instructed to testify for FINRA investigators. Thomason’s lawyer informed FINRA the next day that Thomason received its request and would not cooperate at any time. FINRA determined that Thomason’s refusal to cooperate meant that he violated FINRA Rules 2010 and 8210. He was barred for this reason.

Thomason was registered with OFG Financial Services between June 23, 1997, and November 23, 2021.
