James Edward Knee, of Concord, New Hampshire, a stockbroker formerly registered with Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc., has been named in a customer initiated investment related arbitration claim, which settled on December 21, 2015, for $17,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that Knee made unsuitable investment recommendations to the customer concerning a royalty trust purchase.
Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Public Disclosure reveals that Knee has been identified in three additional customer initiated investment related disputes containing allegations of Knee’s misconduct while employed with Raymond James Financial Services, Inc. and Cantella & Co., Inc. Specifically, on July 24, 2002, a customer filed an investment related complaint involving Knee’s conduct, in which the customer requested $10,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that Knee made misrepresentations to the customer and effected corporate debt transactions in the customer’s account which were not suitable.
Additionally, on March 20, 2005, a customer filed an investment related complaint regarding Knee’s activities, in which the customer requested $100,000.00 in damages based upon allegations that Knee effected the purchase of three variable annuity contracts which were not suitable for the customer. Subsequently, on March 13, 2008, a customer filed an investment related written complaint involving Knee’s conduct, in which the customer requested $22,651.00 in damages based upon allegations that Knee failed to execute upon the customer’s instructions to hold stock positions, and caused the customer to bear tax penalties in the liquidation of the customer’s assets.
